Always deeply fascinating. An excellent Roman history museum set in the main street and heart of the Roman fortress of Isca, now known as Caerleon which means Camp of the Legions.

The museum is a large collection of local Roman finds with jewellery, coins and glass. Also a reconstruction of a Barracks room with a 'real' Roman legionary to tell you all about it. Very well presented with lots of local info and engaging for the kids. Great layout and collections of items, especially the reconstructed coffin and the VR tour was cool too. Nice little gift shop as well.

A small museum but packed with loads to see. The recreated roman garden is a delight as is the barrack room and you can even try your hand at archery on certain days! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have, making your visit one to remember.

Excellent little museum with some very interesting exhibits. An hour will see you around. Highly recommended.

Small but very good museum. Lots of Roman objects and grave stones. There is Roman gardens at the back. And learning rooms for children. Teacher wears typical Roman costume when he is teaching. I wanted to take a photo with him but my husband didn't let me disturb the lesson. This area is very good to spend time with your children.
